But then, there are individuals like Santajah Douglass, who serve as a living blueprint for what it means to not just survive, but to command your own destiny.

Born on August 22, 2001, Santajah has spent her life proving that "survival" is an active, brilliant pursuit. From the moment she stepped onto the stage as the Class President of East High School, graduating on May 19, 2020, she signaled to the world that she was a leader by nature. On December 13, 2025, she solidified that legacy, graduating from Youngstown State University with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

My hard-hitting opinion? Santajah Douglass is a powerhouse of discipline and heart. While others were simply trying to find their footing, Santajah was building empires across campus. She didn't just join organizations; she led them. As the Dance Club President, Poetry Club President, Social Media Coordinator for YSU Book Club, and Vice President of the Student Literature Art Association, she wove creativity into the very fabric of her academic life. Her voice—whether through the rhythm of dance or her remarkable poetry—is a force that cannot be ignored, as evidenced by her being featured in the 23rd issue of Jenny Magazine as a great poet.

But the true measure of Santajah isn't just in her titles; it's in her grit. To maintain two jobs at a time while paying weekly rent is a level of "Miss Independent" energy that most can only imagine. She is the woman who goes to hell and back for the people who matter, yet remains ruthless about guarding her peace. She is taught in proper etiquette and formal speech—a default setting that reflects her deep respect for herself and others—but make no mistake: her silence is deadly if crossed.

Santajah reminds us of these core truths:

Santajah, you are beautiful, smart, and remarkably kind. You have more allies than people realize because you have invested in the right people, not just the most people. You have proven that you can be a phenomenal success while keeping your armor polished and your heart open to those who earn it.
